Busta Rhymes signs to Young Money (YMCMB) and pens Google Music deal

Yes it is true. It was confirmed earlier today that Busta Rhymes has indeed signed to Young Money/Cash Money (also known as YMCMB), in a surprise move that has left many industry insiders scratching their heads. While YMCMB obviously represent one of the most successful crop of artists in the urban music scene at the moment, many have initially questioned whether Busta fits the mold of the much younger demographic who follow Young Money.

While many will focus on the YMCMB aspect of the move, Busa Buss also announced yesterday that he has teamed up with the new Google Music platform to release his new single “Why Stop Now” featuring Chris Brown (track below). It is widely thought that this new platform could be a ground-breaking initiative for an ailing music industry, and indeed Busta confirmed this stating that 20 years on from his first release with Leaders of the New School, “the same routine becomes redundant”.

Busta will join Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake at Young Money, with the aim of tapping into the younger fan base at the label. On the flip-side it is thought that bringing the old school heavyweight to the label will bring added credibility to the collective who previously have felt the scorn of many of the Hip-Hop critics and followers. Without further ado, here is the new track from Busta and Chris Brown:
