Beanie Sigel Faces Jail Time Over Tax Evasion

Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel could be facing up to three years in prison after he recently admitted guilt in failing to file his taxes in the years between 2003 – 2005.

Last October, news hit the internet of the Broad Street Bully’s financial situation in the form of tax debts. According to ABC News, the rapper pleaded guilty in federal court on August 9th to not filing his taxes in the years between 2003 – 2005 while he was signed to Roc-A-Fella.

Prosecutors say Beans owes $350,000 out of over $1,000,000 in income that he failed to report. His lawyer Fortunato Perri Jr. is to contest the amount owed and if he is found guilty at his November 18th hearing, Sigel could face up to three years in prison.

Beans, real name Dwight Grant is no stranger to run in’s with the law, back in 2004 he was sentenced to prison and served ten months for gun and drugs possession. In 2008 he was sent back to prison again for violating his parole three times and currently faces a lawsuit over a shooting outside Philadelphia’s Power 99.
