Brap Brap- Tempah and Plan B blitz Brits

Tinie Tempah and Plan B were both celebrating today after leading the way for Urban Music’s up and coming stars by each collecting Brits at last-night’s stripped back and revamped ceremony, which for the first time saw reporters allowed to sit at tables and mingle with the stars on the floor of the venue at the O2 Arena, London.

Plumstead born Tempah, who grew up a short distance down the road, lead the way scooping 2 out of the 4 awards for which he was nominated. After all the hype surrounding the rapper before the event, a great year was capped with deserved wins for debut single “Pass Out”, which he also gave an airing with a live performance that more than justified the honour, both as Best British Single and for the artist as he was named Best  British Breakthrough Act.

Picking up his first award, the rapper said: “I want to big up God and my family for sticking by me when times are hard.”

Plan B’s evening was also a huge success after he collected Best British Male on the back of the hugely acclaimed album “The Defamation of Strickland Banks”. The cockney geezer was not finished there though as he smashed his performance, during which he grappled with riot police and ended with a man on fire.

The good news just kept coming for Hip Hop & R&B fans, with Jessie J claiming the Critics Choice as the artist most likely to breakthrough this year.

Rihanna continued her meteoric rise by collecting Best International Female, whilst Cee Lo Green bagged Best International Male.
