Slaughterhouse Celebrate EP Release In NYC – We Have The Footage!

Last night in New York City, the lads from Hip-Hop supergroup Slaughterhouse celebrated the release of their new EP with a sold out show at the Highline Ballroom. The group, first formed back in 2008, is made up of four members: Crooked I, a former Death Row Records recording artist from Long Beach, Brooklyn’s Joell Ortiz, formally signed to Dr Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment label, Grammy nominated rapper Joe Budden, who hails from New Jersey, and Detroit rapper Royce da 5’9’’, who has had a storied past with new boss Eminem. After a falling out between the two, Royce traded numerous diss tracks with Em’s group D12 before the pair finally reconciled with Royce even going on to feature on a D12 mixtape and tour in 2008.

The group’s cameo appearance in the Eminem hit “Forever” sparked speculation that they were set to sign with Shady Records. The Internet was buzzing with rumors throughout 2010 before it was finally confirmed on January 12 2011. Slaughterhouse officially joined Alabama rapper Yelawolf as the label’s new signings with both acts appearing on the cover of the March issue of Hip-Hop magazine XXL along with the founder himself Eminem.

Hip-Hop fans fortunate enough to get their hands on tickets to the Rapradar promoted gig got treated to great night with surprise guests including;the G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks, who warmed up the crowd with his hit song “Beamer, Benz or Bentley”, and Houston rapper Bun B, who was joined by DJ Premier on the one’s and two’s for a performance of “Let Em Know” off his highly rated third album “Trill OG”. The Slaughterhouse boys rounded off proceedings with an energized set which included tracks “Microphone”, “Simon says” and the brilliant “Sound Off” on what is sure to be a night to remember for the lucky audience members.
