Afrika Bambaataa to Play Dublin on October 12th

It’s rare that you get the opportunity to see a part of history live on stage. On the 12th October, you will have that opportunity as the legendary Afrika Bambaataa comes to town for one night only. Widely known as the forefather, or grandfather, of Hip-Hop, Bambaataa is credited with coining and naming the word “Hip-Hop” and the subsequent movement.

Without a doubt one of the earliest innovators in the Hip-Hop scene, Afrika’s DJ sets span generations of music and in 2012 there’s a whole new generation only discovering Bambaataa for the first time. The year marks the 30 year anniversary of “Planet Rock” so fans new and old will be given the chance to celebrate at this intimate gig in The Sugar Club.

Support on the night comes from Dublin rap group The Animators, who will be very familiar to our readers. Tickets are onsale now priced at €15.00 from Tickets.ie.
