Beats by Dre meets HTC Sensation XE

Beats by Dre and HTC have teamed up to create the world first Beats Audio mobile phone improving on the ever-popular HTC Sensation with the new HTC Sensation XE.

Hip-Hop brand extensions aren’t new. From clothing lines, alcoholic and water based drinks to even video games and fragrances, it seems like every market has had a rapper plaster their name on a product. Now in the age of technology and social media, legendary producer and rapper Dr. Dre (NWA, The Chronic, Dre 2001) and Interscope executive Jimmy Iovine teamed up with Monster Cable to create premium consumer headphones branded Beats by Dre. These headphones took the world by storm in 2008, being endorsed by music and even sports celebrities world-wide. But, of course, this is old news.

As we reported back in August, (see article here)mobile phone manufacturer HTC bought a majority share worth $300 million in the Beats brand and since then is ready to release the first mobile devices with Beats Audio. Essentially what this means is that some new HTC devices will come with Beats by Dre headphones / Ear-buds, and a special software Equaliser system that will enhance the audio output tailored specifically for these headsets. These EQ presets will boost the low end of your music while enhancing the crispness and clarity of the mid and high frequencies.

The first model of the HTC/ Beats by Dre mobile device is the HTC Sensation XE running Android OS and boasting a 1.5GHz dual-processor, 8MP camera, full 1080P HD video recording and of course, Beats Audio. The phone will also come with a Beats in-ear headset, made specifically for the phone.

The HTC Sensation XE is scheduled for release mid-October in Ireland and is exclusive to 02 at this time. You can register you’re interest on 02’s website at http://www.o2online.ie/o2/shop/phones/htc-sensation-xe-with-beatsaudio/159/
