Chiddy Bang’s Chiddy Sets Record With 9 Hour Freestyle

Chiddy of the Hip-Hop duo Chiddy Bang made history on Thursday when he set two Guinness World Records for rapping. The emcee rapped for over nine hours, setting a new record in two different categories.

Clocking in at astonishing 9 hours, 18 minutes and 22 seconds, Chiddy set the Guinness World Record for both Longest Marathon Rap and Longest Freestyle Rap. The previous record holder for the category was Wu-Tang affiliate M-Eighty, who set the bar high in 2009 with 9 hours 15 minutes and 15 seconds.

“It’s crazy – shouts to team swelly, shouts to MTV,” said Chiddy, who released “The Preview on EMI Records last October. “Thanks to all the people who showed support all day online. Without the fans I couldn’t have done this. I used to read the Guinness book when I was a little kid in school. Now I’m in it. Chase dreams first.”

Chiddy Bangc are best known in Ireland for their 2010 single “Opposite of Adults” which reached number 10 in our charts and used the sample from the MGMT song “Kids”. We have some highlights from the record breaking freestyle below.
