N-Dubz in Dublin – Talking Bitten Ears and Fishing Trips

The whirlwind that takes place when N-Dubz hit town was in full effect last night, as the Camden Town trio rocked a sold-out Olympia Theatre in Dublin’s city centre, despite the groups rocky month of shows and dramas. Just last Thursday Dappy was acostted by a crazed fan, who bit into his ear, Mike Tyson style, before medics rushed to the aid of the bleeding rapper. This comes on the back of Dappy’s alleged mugging in Mao Tai in London, where a knife-wielding duo reportedly stole £10,000 worth of jewellery.

Speaking on the ear biting incident, Dappster  says “It was mental – check the massive red mark she left on my ear!

She leaned in for a hug, next thing it’s ‘Raaar!!’ She got me in a mad headlock and just bit into my ear. It hurt so much. Security got her

This isn’t the first time crazed fans have crossed the young rap stars. In a 2009 show in Dublin, N-Dubz’s Fazer was attacked by a fan who threw a drink over the rapper before snatching his chain.

It does scare me, stuff like that, but that’s what we set out to be with N-Dubz, that pandemonium.

And it certainly was pandemonium last night. With an all-new high-tech stage show, complete with full band, storyline and dancers, N-Dubz took their performance to the next level, despite Tulisa suffering from a throat infection that caused the singer difficulties throughout the show.

With no local support on the night, it was left to the touring party to liven the crowd up, with a bevy of UK acts gracing the stage ahead of N-Dubz. Chief among them was Encore and Nathan, who later performed a PA set at Grafton Lounge. Speaking with Rap Ireland, Encore were extremely enthusiastic about breaking the Irish market, having also played here last week with Jessie J.

So with the current tour ending on April 30th what’s next for N-Dubz?

They’re going fishing!

Yes you heard it right! According to Tulisa, “We’re all going to France together and are just going to camp by the river and fish every day and night. The trip is more about Dappy and I, to sort of build up a relationship again as cousins.

She added: “You get so caught up at work that you end up losing the family vibe and just hating each other as work colleagues. So we’re doing something with no work involved and there’s nothing to argue about. It’s to make the group tighter again and bring us back to the roots from where it all started.

And for all you Irish fans… We have N-Dubz word… They will be back before the summer ends!
