Pea’s set to Rock the Bowl – Fergie and Co ready to energise 45th Super Bowl

After a fantastic 2010 that saw a domination of the airwaves, our TV screens and internet download supremacy, 2011 for The Black Eyed Peas is certainly kicking off with a bang.

The six-time Grammy award-winning group, who have sold more than 28 million albums worldwide, are said to be honoured and excited at the prospect of providing the halftime entertainment at Sunday’s 45th Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers.

Band member apl.de.ap has even taken the step of having the bands initials  – BEP – and XLV – for the 45th Super Bowl – shaved into the back of his head. The innovative globe trotting band  will also be bringing some technology to the show as will.i.am will be tweeting during the performance.

“We’re not allowed to give away the set list, but it will be packed with the energy that the Black Eyed Peas bring,” said band member Fergie at a news conference on Thursday.

Usher and former Guns n Roses guitarist Slash are rumoured to be pencilled in as guests of the “Peas” during the show but that is yet to be confirmed.

“Hopefully we will bring the heat because it’s cold as hell here in Dallas,” said Black Eyed Peas band member Taboo. The band were speaking spoke at a news conference in downtown Dallas

“Sunday football is a serious day in our homes,” said Fergie, who is a minority owner of the Miami Dolphins with will.i.am adding that he is proud that many of their energetic songs are featured at sporting events.
