Rihanna Agrees To Reduced Restraining Order Against Chris Brown

Almost exactly two years after his assault on Rihanna, Chris brown appeared in a L.A court last Friday for his progress report where his attorney requested the judge remove the restraining order against the singer. The night of February 8th 2008, the then couple were involved in a incident which saw the “Whats My Name” singer viciously beaten with Brown later turning himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department. Brown was charged with felony assault and making criminal threat. He was sentenced to five years of probation, one year of domestic violence counseling, and six months of community service. The judge also put a five-year restraining order which required him to remain 50 yards away from Rihanna, 10 yards at public events.

Rihanna has requested that the order be dropped to a level one – meaning that they can have contact as long as Brown doesn’t annoy, molest or harass her. According to E Online, Mark Geragos, Breezy’s attorney, has been informed of her approval and has to go to court and have the order officially modified by a judge.

With a busy weekend coming up for the two R&B singers that will see Ri Ri perform at this Sunday’s 53rd Grammy Awards where she is hoping to pick up 4 awards. Chris brown, who is nominated for three Grammys, will not attend the show due to a prior commitment to appear on Saturday Night Live the weekend of the awards. The two’s first encounter may however come during this years NBA ALL-Star Game due to take place next Sunday (February 20th), where Brown will play in the celebrity game while Rihanna is set to perform during the half time show.
