Sean Kingston Opens Up About Heart Surgery and Brush with Death

It has been just over two months since Sean Kingston was in a horrific jet-ski accident which nearly took his life. The hip-hop star was left in a critical condition after the watercraft carrying himself and a friend, collided with a bridge in Miami, Florida. Kingston opened up to MTV’s Sway about the aftermath of the horrific event in his life that almost ended it all.

The Jamaican born star discussed his current state in the interview with Sway, entitled: MTV First: Sean Kingston. Describing how he feels physically at the present time, he said: “I’m doing good, I’m feeling great. I’m happy, I’m excited.”

At the time it was reported that Kingston was in a stable condition, but he admits this was far from the truth. “A lot of people don’t know it was a deeper situation. I had open heart surgery and I had two other surgeries; it was a life or death situation.”

Kingston admitted that upon leaving the hospital, he began to feel pains in his chest, which called for more tests and re-admission. “They were gonna send me home, but then I had felt a pain in my left chest and I told my Mom. They rushed me and did a lot of scans on me and told me I couldn’t leave.”

Kingston appears to be well on the way to overcoming the awful accident that left him with water in his lungs, a broken wrist and broken jaw. Thankfully, the ‘Letting Go’ singer held on and pulled through.
