Odd Future front man Tyler, The Creator has been a busy man of late, promoting his second studio album “Goblin” in the US and Europe over the past two weeks. While promoting his album at L.A’s Westchester High School, the 20 year old was reportedly arrested along with fellow OFWGKTA member Jasper Dolphin. The exact charge is unknown but there are reports and photos of their skateboards being confiscated; both were released shortly afterwards. Never one to shy away from controversy Tyler took to his Twitter to express his anger:
“FUCK POLICE FUCK YOU ALL I HOPE YOU ALL DIE. I WILL NEVER RESPECT YOU PIGS. I Can Not Wait To Perform FUCK THA POLICE Tonight. I Have A Great Lawyer Actually. No. I Dropped GOBLIN Today, I’m Not Gonna Let That Shit Fuck My Day Up. I Swear To Atheist God Tho, FUCK COPS. I’m Moshing Tonight. And Fuck Those Cops. Had Us In Cuffs For No Reason, Didn’t Do Shit. “Disturbing The Peace, Loitering And Skating Pass A Cop” What The Fuck?”
“Goblin” has recived positive reviews from the critics and has debuted at number 3 on the iTunes album charts and 2 on the iTunes hip hop charts. The album’s production came almost entirely from Tyler himself, along with contributions from fellow OFWGKTA member Left Brain. “Goblin” is considered a concept album, continuing Tyler’s dialogues with his fictional therapist Dr. TC first heard on his first album “Bastard”.
Only last month other Odd Future singer Frank Ocean was arrested in L.A. for unspecified reasons and was released the morning after. He also took to his Twitter account to vent his anger at the L.A cops.
“Just got out of jail. Would like to go on record saying..fuck the police. fuck LAPD to be specific. fuck a cop, non-stop. frank will never speak to a cop again in his natural life. i have no respect for police. I swear if i weren’t sane in mind I’d throw a fuckin molotov in a cop car right now. Cuh had napoleon complex. and seemed really sad that he was on that lame ass bike patrol. what’s your #fuckthepolice experience? somebody bring the LA riots back.”
